Norway spruce is a large, fast-growing evergreen with a conical outline and branches that become more pendulous with age. Long hanging cones and green needles give mature trees a recognizable woodland character. It is best suited to cool-summer landscapes with room for a substantial crown, rather than hot, dry or poorly drained locations.
