Dragon Prince is a compact, rounded Japanese cedar with stiff light-green foliage. Its small, dense outline suits borders, low hedges and containers where a finely textured evergreen is wanted. The naturally mounded form needs no routine shaping, making it a useful contrast to upright conifers and large-leaved plants in a mixed planting.

Foliage
Evergreen; light green

Pruning
Usually little shaping is needed. If necessary, shorten stray young shoots to a leafy side branch in early spring, retaining the cultivar's natural outline.

Rich, slightly acidic, moist but well-drained soil.
Issues
Allow air circulation; leaf spot and blight can occur. Monitor mites in dry weather.
