Keep in mind: Despite the inventory’s “lime” label, calamondin fruit ripens orange.
Fruit & harvest
- Pollination
- Indoors, gently shake open flowers to transfer pollen where insects are absent. Fruit-set requirements vary by variety.
Growing & care
- Care & pruning
- Keep in a container and bring indoors before frost. Use the fruit for juice or seasoning rather than expecting a conventional green lime.
- Size & rootstock
- Mature size depends on the variety, rootstock and container. Choose stock suited to the space available for indoor winter care.
- Harvest
- Let fruit ripen on the plant; it does not ripen further after picking. Taste is a better ripeness guide than rind color alone.
