Fruit & harvest
- First crop
- Expect light crops for the first 2–3 years; yields increase as the plant matures.
- Harvest
- Summer crop.
- Pollination
- A second compatible blueberry cultivar usually improves fruit set and berry size.
Growing & care
- Soil
- Acidic, well-drained soil
- Pruning
- While dormant, remove dead wood and thin older, unproductive canes. Prune young plants lightly; retain healthy last-season branches for fruit.
- Winter
- Mulch outdoor plants. In severe cold, insulate pots or move them to an unheated, sheltered space; keep the soil moist, not soaked.
Grow in acidic soil or a large container with an acidic mix. Water during fruit development; a second compatible blueberry can improve yield.
