Meet our bonsai
Pinus sylvestris
Scots pine
Also known as Scotch pine.
Scots pine has slender needles in pairs, sometimes slightly twisted, and attractive reddish bark on the upper trunk. These features give it a recognizable character among the evergreen bonsai.
Widely used for bonsai, Scots pine suits a range of styles and can develop fine branching. It normally has one flush of growth each year, so Japanese black pine pruning routines should not be applied automatically.
